Dear Mr Farthing

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (SCOTLAND) ACT 2002
ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION (SCOTLAND REGULATIONS 2004

Thank  you  for  your  request  received  on  6  December  2018  for  the  provision  of  the  following
information:-

Please provide me with all recorded information which shows what person or group took the
decision to relocate the Haemophilia & Thrombosis Unit from Ward 1 to the St Mungo Building.
Please include in your response the recorded information which was considered by the person or
group taking the decision and any factors that were recorded as pertinent to the decision taken.

We  are  treating  your  request  under  our  procedures  for  responding  to  requests  for  information
under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.  I am now able to provide a response on
behalf of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) and this is given below.  I acknowledge that
this response has been issued outwith the statutory timescale of 20 working days as set out in the
act, and I apologise for this delay and any inconvenience this has caused

Please provide me with all recorded information which shows what person or group took
the decision to relocate the Haemophilia & Thrombosis Unit from Ward 1 to the St Mungo
Building.  Please include in your response the recorded information which was considered
by the person or group taking the decision and any factors that were recorded as pertinent
to the decision taken.

The North Sector Acting Director  took the decision to look at relocating the centre given the GRI
inpatient service pressures. The Regional Services Directorate were then engaged with looking at
relocation options.  The Directorate was clear that the centre should not move off the GRI site  and
the  St  Mungo  building  was  identified  as  a  suitable   area  (with  necessary  refurbishment  to  meet
service  needs).   The  St  Mungo  building  would  then  serve  to  host  the  gastro  and  haemophilia
ambulatory outpatient services.

I  have  also  attached  the  minutes  of  a  series  of  meetings  of  the  North  Sector  Senior  Leadership
Team that took place between July 2017 and December 2018, at which this matter was discussed.
I have highlighted the relevant sections in yellow.

I hope that this is helpful.  If you are not satisfied with our response to your request, you have a
right to request a review of this decision within 40 working days of receiving this response.  The
