We're waiting for Lily Kerrigan to read a recent response and update the status.

To Whom This May Concern
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please can you provide me with the following information in relation to children that you place in 52 week children’s homes?
1. Can you confirm if you do or do not place in unregulated children’s homes?
2. If you do place in unregulated children’s homes, please can you provide a list of the names of the providers that you currently use?
3. If placing out of your local authority catchment area, can you detail the location by county of the unregulated children homes?
I would be grateful if you could send your response within the 20 day reply period.
Yours faithfully

DCST FOI Requests,

Dear Ms Kerrigan,

Following on from your Freedom of Information request below. The request is entitled 52 week Children's Homes Placements, but the request is asking for information in regard to unregulated children's homes. Unregulated provision is a placement for children aged 16+ who require support to live independently, rather than needing full time care. This type of placement is not regulated by Ofsted. Children's homes must be registered with and regulated by Ofsted. When referring to a 52 week placement, we understand that to mean a placement which also provides education, which wouldn’t apply to unregulated 16+ placements.

Therefore please can you clarify if you are asking about 16+ unregulated provision or children's homes? Also can you clarify what you are referring to as 52 week children's homes placements?

Kind regards
Sophie
