Section 16a RTRA

Please can you advise the numbers of TTROs applied for and the number granted under Section 16a of the Road Traffic Regulation Act during 2018.
Where possible, please provide details of the roads affected by the closures. Copies of application forms / maps submissions received would be acceptable, there is no need to create a separate list where the information is already in a readable format.

I would very much argue to the contrary - for any smaller road closure, Chichester District Council are the responsible authority. It quite clearly states so on your website, and I have filed previous TTRO requests with you.

Your freedom of information (FOI) request e-mail has been passed by
Chichester District Council’s (CDC) Contact Centre to me for attention.
Your request expressly refers to Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders
(TTRO), which are the responsibility of West Sussex County Council (WSCC)
under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; TTROs essentially deal with
undertaking highway maintenance. Insofar as TTROs are concerned you will
need to divert your FOI request to WSCC.
CDC is responsible for Temporary Road Closures Orders (TRCO) under the
Town Police Clauses Act 1847; TRCOs essentially deal with road closures
for recreational events and markets.
In view of your email dated 10 September 2018, I have begun to look into
the information requested and will provide this to you as soon as
reasonably practicable.

Further to my email below regarding your Freedom of Information (FOI)
request submitted on 8 September 2018 and which I acknowledged on 18
September 2018, this is the response on behalf of Chichester District
Council (CDC).
Request
‘Please can you advise the numbers of TTROs applied for and the number
granted under Section 16a of the Road Traffic Regulation Act during 2018.

Response
As mentioned in my previous email, I would like to draw attention to the
difference between the responsibilities of West Sussex County Council
(WSCC) and CDC.
Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTRO), are the responsibility of WSCC
under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; TTROs essentially deal with
undertaking highway maintenance.
CDC is responsible for Temporary Road Closures Orders (TRCO) under the
Town Police Clauses Act 1847; TRCOs essentially deal with road closures
for recreational events and markets.
This response related only, therefore, to TRCOs.
Please see the attached document answering your question. It shows the
total number of TRCO applications received to date and the current status
of each.
