Admissions of International Students for Law (M100)

The request was successful.

Dear London School of Economics,

Pardon me, for my previous request was unusable due to the lack of the requestor's name.

I would like to know the information regarding the admissions of international applicants (non-UK) applicants and offer holders to the LLB Law (M100) course for the cycles 2015/2016, 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 (if available). Here are the following questions:

1) What are the average grades achieved by the international students for their I/GCSE or O-levels?

2) What is the average UMS (or Percentage Mark Scale for CIE) for AS-level of the international students granted an offer?

3) What are the lowest grades in I/GCSE or O-levels achieved by international students that were given a place, for students that sat for the exams with more than 5 subjects? For example, AAAABBBB.

4) What are the lowest grades for AS-levels and A-level prediction of international students guaranteed a place? For example, ABC.

5) Does the institution consider the performance of the international students' secondary school (where they sat for their I/GCSE or O-levels) in relation to their attained results?

It would be helpful if the year is indicated for each of the answers.
A prompt response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yours faithfully,
Azeezah Mokhtar

Dear Azeezah

We require some further clarification on your request:

- Is point 1) referring to offer holders only or all applicants?
- for point 4) I'm not entirely sure what is meant by 'students guaranteed a place'. I.e. does this just mean all students who were made an offer or just students whose offer was confirmed after results were released?

On a more general level, can we also clarify exactly what is meant by 'international applicants'? E.G. does this just mean any applicants with an overseas fee status or anyone not domiciled in the UK?

Your request will be put on hold until this information is required to be able to process your request.

Kind regards

Danny

Dear GLPD.Info.Rights,

- Point 1) refers to offer holders only.
- Point 4) is meant for students that were made an offer.
- "International applicants" as in any applicants with an overseas fee status.

Yours sincerely,

Azeezah

Each applicant to LSE is considered on his/her merit and in competition with the rest of the applicant cohort in a given admissions cycle. Each application is viewed holistically; assessing the merit, potential, motivation, skills and qualities of applicants by considering all the information presented on the application form. This includes, but is not limited to, academic achievements and qualifications. The personal statement, academic reference and additional social and educational contextual data also form an important part of the selection process. For more information on exactly what contextual information is used in the admissions decision making process please refer to the Undergraduate Admissions Policy.

If you think that the information provided does not meet your request, contact me on 020 7955 7554 or write to Louise Nadal, School Secretary, London School of Economics and Political Science, Houghton Street, London, WC2A 2AE.
