Student number details in modules DE 200 and DE 300

We're waiting for Florian Peschelt to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Sir or Madam, I would like to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act.

Can you please provide the information for both the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 periods concerning modules DE 200 and DE 300 :
• The total number of students enrolled, and split into ethnic groups.
• The total number and percentage of students who dropped out, and split into ethnic groups.
• The total number and percentage of students who deferred.
• The total number and percentage of students who were fully reimbursed among the students who deferred.
• The total number and percentage of students who were partially reimbursed among the students who deferred.
• The percentage of BME students finishing with distinctions, regarding DE 300 with numbers split by method: experimental, text-based, survey.
• The mean pay of tutors.
• The number of complaints resulting in a change of tutor.
• The number of complaints about a TMA or EMA mark.
• The number of re-gradings in favour of the students.
Can you pleas provide information for both the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 periods concerning only module DE300:
• The mean times in hours and minutes allocated to students by tutors for their final year project, excluding time allocated to software issues.
• The percentage of BME tutors by method: experimental, text-based, survey.
Furthermore, can you please provide me with the email communication from staff tutors regarding the student forum and allocation fo student time.

•             The total number of students enrolled, and split into ethnic
groups.  – Please see attached spreadsheet. Slide one (module stats) sets
out the numbers of students registered who have begun studying , slide
three (deferrals) shows a slightly higher number of students registered as
these are students that have registered but not yet begun study.

•             The total number and percentage of students who dropped out,
and split into ethnic groups. - Please see attached spreadsheet (this data
can be drawn from the registration, deferral and completion data set out
in slides one and three).

•             The total number and percentage of students who deferred. -

•             The total number and percentage of students who were fully
reimbursed among the students who deferred. - Please see attached
spreadsheet (slide two)

•             The total number and percentage of students who were
partially reimbursed among the students who deferred. - Please see

This is per appointment. Associate Lecturers are paid based on their
experience working for the OU, but all are between the above values.

•             The number of complaints resulting in a change of tutor. -

•             The number of re-grading’s in favour of the students. -
Please see attached spreadsheet (slide two)

 

Can you please provide information for both the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018
periods concerning only module DE300:

 

•             The mean times in hours and minutes allocated to students by
tutors for their final year project, excluding time allocated to software
issues.

Tutors are allocated 52 hours contact time for their group of 15 students
on DE300, and 50% of the module is project based.

Additionally dedicated forums are available to support students with
software issues.

•             The percentage of BME tutors by method: experimental,
text-based, survey.  – We don’t hold this specific information.

 

Furthermore, can you please provide me with the email communication from
staff tutors regarding the student forum and allocation for student time?
-  We can ascertain and to the best of our knowledge there was no “email
communication from staff tutors regarding the student forum and allocation
for student time.
