Dear Mr Wong,

Thank you for your below request for information.

Could we seek clarification as to whether you want the query considered on the basis of home domicile or on the basis of nationality? It seems that question 2 and question 3 are referring to different things.

We would normally use home domicile, as this is a better guide to the education system which, the applicant will have had prior to applying to UCL.

Dear Finance.FOI Requests,

Hi,

I suspect your answer is in response to a different subject (law?)

The last message I got was this:

"Could we seek clarification as to whether you want the query considered on the basis of home domicile or on the basis of nationality? It seems that question 2 and question 3 are referring to different things.

We would normally use home domicile, as this is a better guide to the education system which, the applicant will have had prior to applying to UCL."

After which I got a response to a different question upon answering that I was looking at domicile.

Yours sincerely,

Richard Wong

As you can see, exact counts of four or less have been withheld because
these are personal data of third parties or, if linked with other
personal identifiers in the public domain, would be likely to become
personal  data. This information has been withheld under section 40(2) of
the FOIA  by virtue of s40 (3)(a)(i).

Section 40(2) of the FOIA allows a public authority to withhold
information under the FOIA where (i) the requested information is
personal  data relating to someone other than the requester and (ii) its
disclosure  would breach any of the data protection principles. In this
case we  believe that the requested information could relate to and
identify  individuals and therefore would be personal data. The disclosure
of this personal data would not be within the reasonable expectations of
the individuals concerned and it would be unfair to do so; this therefore
breaches the first data protection principle.

It is for these reasons that this information is exempt under section
40(2) of the Act.

Finance.FOI Requests, University College London

Dear Mr Wong,

Thank you for your e-mail correspondence regarding this request and our response.

Regarding your original request you asked for the following:

Question 3 - "...list the number of students from the following countries for the admission year 2015, 2016, 2017?", which is what we provided in our response.

Please can you confirm that it is the number of offers made by domicile that is what you are now requesting? Furthermore, does this apply to questions 2 and 3 of your request only?

Apologies for not providing the EU information in our original response. In terms of the figures regarding UK + EU and International Students (Non-EU), we will re-do the figures using an EU (including UK) v non-EU split once we have heard back from you.
