Vehicle-activated systems

The request was successful.

Dear Clackmannanshire Council,

How many villages/towns in Clackmannanshire deploy vehicle-activated systems with a digital speed display that can be read by the drivers of incoming vehicles?

Of those villages/towns in Clackmannanshire that deploy such systems, how many have undertaken traffic surveys within the last ten years to determine their effectiveness?

Can I see the results of these surveys, please?

Yours faithfully,

George Winter

Pauline Monteith, Clackmannanshire Council

Dear Mr. Winter

Freedom of Information Enquiry: DEV02FF737

Thank you for your information request dated 30/05/2018.

I am happy to supply you with the information you requested.

We have no sites where vehicle activated signs display actual vehicle
speeds.

There are 8 towns where those travelling above the posted speed limit will
be 'flashed' a reminder of the speed limit (Menstrie, Alva, Tillicoultry,
Dollar, Sauchie, Alloa, Cambus, Tullibody)

Only 4 work (Alva, Tillicoultry, Sauchie,Tullibody)

We do carry out traffic counts, details of which can be purchased at £40
per site. Should you  wish to purchase data, please contact
[email address] and identify those sites which you would like data
for. Should you wish data from a site that we currently hold no data for,
you can ask for a count to be carried out. This will cost £50 per site and
collection of data will be programmed but not given priority over existing
traffic management counts.

Yours sincerely

Pearl McMenemy
