Thank you for your email dated 14th August 2017 requesting information via our Transmission Customer Strategy email
address.
Information requested
“Dear National Grid plc,
Please state the highest 3-phase voltage unbalance predicted to be caused by the HS2
London to Birmingham route,

Our response
Please note that National Grid PLC (nor any of its subsidiary companies) are subject to the Freedom of Information Act
2000. In addition, not all parts of National Grid PLC are subject to EIR, and although not specified as to which business
area your request should be considered by, in the spirit of openness and cooperation we have considered your request
under EIR.
Having considered the requirements of “Environmental information” as set out in EIR (regulation 2(1)), we do not consider
the information you have requested as falling within the definition of environmental information.
Conclusion
If you are in any way unhappy with this response to your request, you may ask for an internal review. Please write to
Julie Labraham (EIR Complaints Officer), in the first instance, at the above address, setting out the reasons why you
believe we have not complied with its requirements with regard to your request.
Regulation 11(2) EIR states that you must send a request for internal review to National Grid no later than 40 working
days after the date of this letter. We will arrange an internal review of your request and we will notify you of its decision no
later than 40 working days following receipt of your complaint.
Under EIR, if you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have the right to appeal the decision to the
