Your Request for Information
I am writing in response to your recent request that we received on 12th May 2016 in
which you requested the following information under the Freedom of Information Act
2000.
Information Requested
We are conducting a project on service provision for men with Erectile Dysfunction, with
the overarching aim of helping to improve services for men across England, Scotland,
Wales and Northern Ireland.
We would be grateful if you could answer the following questions promptly to help us
with our analysis of service provision in your area.
The questions are as follows:
1. Does your CCG provide an erectile dysfunction clinic and can you provide the total
number and addresses of all NHS erectile dysfunction clinics within your CCG? If you
do not know who should we ask?
2. Does your CCG provide psychosexual clinics and can you provide the total number
and addresses of all NHS psychosexual clinics within your CCG? If you do not know
who should we ask?
3. Does your CCG provide counselling and sex therapy services and can you provide
the details of any NHS counselling services and sex therapy services that treat men
with erectile dysfunction within your CCG? If you do not know who should we ask?

4. Does your CCG provide PDE5-I and if so which one?
5. Does your CCG prescribe ‘tadalafil (Cialis)’ tablets for men who experience erectile
dysfunction as a result of prostate cancer treatment?
6. At what dose are the ‘tadalafil (Cialis)’ tablets prescribed?
7. Is the daily dose of ‘tadalafil (Cialis)’ tablets (2.5/5mg) available/prescribed?
8. Does your CCG prescribe the Vacuum erection device for men who experience
erectile dysfunction as a result of prostate cancer treatment?
9. Does your CCG offer Penile implant surgery (semi-rigid or inflatable implant devices)
for men who experience erectile dysfunction as a result of prostate cancer treatment?
Response
On behalf of the NHS Harrogate and Rural District Clinical Commissioning Group I can
confirm the following responses to your questions as follows:
1.
I can confirm that NHS Harrogate and Rural District Clinical Commissioning
Group does not commission any of the NHS Services in question for the
residents of the Harrogate and Rural District locality.

I can confirm that NHS Harrogate and Rural District Clinical Commissioning
Group does not commission any of the NHS Services in question for the
residents of the Harrogate and Rural District locality.

I can confirm that NHS Harrogate and Rural District Clinical Commissioning
Group does not commission any of the NHS Services in question for the
residents of the Harrogate and Rural District locality.
4.
I can confirm the following PDE6-1 medicines have been prescribed in this CCG:
Avanafil, Sildenafil, Tadalafil and Vardenafil.
5.
Yes in line with the criteria set out in the NHS Electronic Drug Tariff

6.
Data held does not provide information around specific doses been prescribed
although I can confirm the following strengths are prescribed: 2.5mg,
5mg, 10mg, 20mg.
7.
The daily strengths are prescribed.
8.
I can confirm that there is prescribing of vacuum devices for erectile dysfunction
although we do not hold data as to whether these relate specifically to prostate
cancer.
9.
This will be commissioned on an exceptional case basis via the CCG Individual
Funding Request Panel.
