a The Environment Agency holds the records of the National Rivers Authority. When was the main channel of the River Yare between Norwich and Brundall last dredged by The National Rivers Authority for flood risk management purposes?

b The Environment Agency took over responsibility from The National Rivers Authority in 1996. When was the main channel of the River Yare between Norwich and Brundall last dredged by The Environment Agency for flood risk management purposes?

c If there has been a change of policy which has resulted in there being a policy of no dredging of the stretch of river between Norwich and Brundall please tell me on what basis that policy decision was taken and on what date it was taken.

Thank you for your enquiry of 3 April 2014.

 

As you are aware requests for recorded information are generally governed
by the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). However, the information
you have requested is environmental and it is therefore exempted from the
provisions of FOIA by FOIA s.39(1). We are therefore considering your
request under the provisions of the Environmental Information Regulations
2004 (EIR).

 

In accordance with the EIR from the date we receive your request we have a
total of 20 working days to reply to you. We will try to respond before 20
working days where possible. We will therefore supply the information/data
you have requested as soon as possible.  This will be no later than (input
date), which is in accordance with the FOIA and EIR.
