Dear Mr Baig,

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST FOI 2019-362

I refer to your email of 20 October 2019 requesting information relating to the A100 course at the University of Aberdeen.

Your request has now been considered under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, ‘the Act’.

1. The number of applicants that had achieved AAAAA+ at SQA Higher level?

This information is assessed manually and in order to provide the answer to your question, a total number of 780 applications would need to be looked to extract this information and this would take approximately 5 minutes per record which would result in a total of 65 hours. This would exceed the cost limitations as per section 12 (1) of the Act and as such it cannot be provided.

2. The number of candidates classed as ‘widening access’ candidates?

249

3.What was the lowest SQA S5 Higher Grades for a candidate given an offer for 2019/20 entry?

AAAB

4. Was every Scottish candidate given a BBB condition if they applied from S6? Or were some higher and/or lower?

No. Some received non-standard conditions due to personal circumstances. These were both higher and lower.

5. The number of applications that were given an offer after being placed on the waiting list?

35

6. The number of candidates who achieved a total score of 2400 only in the UKCAT and received an interview? Of these candidates, what were their S5 SQA Higher grades and did they receive an offer?

No candidates achieved an exact score of 2400.

Should you be dissatisfied with this response, you have the right under the Act to request a review. A request for review must be made within 40 working days of the date of this reply.
