2014/2015 Budget Shortfall

Dr kevin parker made this Rhyddid Gwybodaeth request to Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Roedd y cais yn llwyddiannus.

Dear Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council,

Further to information you have already provided in relation to the 2014/15 Budget shortfall, my new FOI request relates to the publication of a summary of internal meetings and meeting notes to better understand why the shortfall report was drafted Wk Comm 14th July 2014 but not published until 14th July 2015.

Jane Le Fevre (Director of Legal & Democratic Services) has confirmed and published details of the budget shortfall report including Appendix which detailed a summary of your internal investigations. However, the question still remains why it took 12 months to publish the report, hence this new FOI request.

I believe my FOI request meets the "public interest" test and if you choose to sight data protection or Section 40(2) of FOIA, please feel free to redact any personal information/names.

Yours faithfully,

Dr kevin parker

Dear Data Protection,

This FOI request has been passed to the ICO as you have failed (again) to meet the legal requirement to respond within the required time period of 20 working days.

An urgent response would be appreciated

Yours sincerely,

Dr kevin parker

Dear Dr Parker

I apologise for the delay in responding to your latest request, referenced
above.

You had requested details of internal meetings and notes of meetings in
order to explain the delay in the release of the report. However, there
are no such meetings/notes as the sole reason for the delay in publication
was because there were a number of disciplinary proceedings which were
linked to the budget issue and we were unable to publish the report until
they had all concluded or we risked compromising those proceedings.

I have asked our HR team to produce a chronology of those various
investigations and proceedings so that you will be able to see the
timeline which applied in that respect. I hope to have that very shortly
and will then forward a copy to you.

Kind regards

Jane
