Westminster City Councilors and Surgeries
Dear Sir or Madam,
I've tried to find the following from Westminster City Councils website but cannot seem to get any detail. I'm hoping this FOI will be able to provide some information.
Of all the City Councilors, could you please provide, on a name by name basis, the following:
A. Which ones hold a regular surgery for residents and where they are held?
B. Which Councilors have surgeries by appointment and where they are held?
C. Can we have a league table of Councilors and the numbers of appointments they have taken from residents, at their surgeries (or agreed meeting places) over the last year?
D. For those Councilors *only* attending a surgery by appointment, how many have been made per month, per Councilor, over the last year?
Yours faithfully,
Susan Roach

The fact that they don't hold the information centrally is irrelevant and not an excuse for not providing it. The information to answer questions C and D is available by asking each individual councillor concerned. The FOI team are happy to forward FOIs to parking services when the information is not available centrally, so why can't they forward this one to each councillor concerned and collate the responses? They are simply trying to avoid your questions. I would go back and challenge them.
Dear Samantha,
Thanks for your response. However, there does seem to be a lack of information which you say are not held centrally. I am assuming that the Councilors in question work for Westminster City Council and Borough electorate and as such WCC is accountable for their responsibility under the FOIA, if it is not please explain why with the relevant supporting documentation?
Yours sincerely,
Susan Roach
Dear Sir or Madam,
Could this be looked at please? The question outstanding is around my questions C and D. If central records are not held, can you forward the FOI requests to the people requested?
Can I remind you that the purpose of the FOI Act is to provide information to the public. If you do not hold the information on *your* councilors and employees then it is only reasonable for you to advise where I might get that information. This is the ethos behind the Act.
Yours faithfully,
Susan Roach

Why have they not answered your question? I would like to know how many appointments have been made by my ward councillors Marshall, Page and I Rowley. They refused to see me or even write back to me, are their others like that who don't want to talk to the residents of Westminster about Cllr Danny Chalkley's bike parking tax?
