Dear Sir,
Thank you for your email dated 30th August 2013 about Edubase.
You requested:

"Can you please provide me with a CSV or XLS file containing the contact details including
email addresses for UK all schools and colleges.”

I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and a  copy of the
information as held by the Department as at 3rd September 2013 is attached.

I have prepared for you on an Excel spreadsheet –

A standard extract of all Educational establishments (including, LA Maintained, Independent,
Academies, CTCs, Free Schools, Studio Schools Further Education and Higher Education) in
England with addresses, Head Teacher details, school email addresses and telephone number
where available.

The extract can be sorted to your own requirements by Phase of Education (primary, secondary
etc.) or Type of Establishment (academy, free school, community school, etc.). Further
information on these and other terms used within this extract can be found in the EduBase
glossary:  [1]http://www.education.gov.uk/edubase/glos...

The Department does not hold information for educational establishments in Scotland, Wales
and Northern Ireland. This information may be available using the following links:

Scotland  [2]http://www.educationscotland.gov.uk/
Wales  [3]http://new.wales.gov.uk/topics/statistic...
Northern Ireland  [4]http://www.deni.gov.uk/

As part of the data extract we have included the school Unique Reference Number (URN) so
that if you require further information on any particular school record please go to
[5]www.education.gov.uk/edubase where you will be able to view more information.

If you have any further issues or queries please do not hesitate to contact the EduBase

Dear Department for Education,

I have now been able to open the .txt file.

Unfortunately every single email address has been obfuscated. I understand that email addresses for specific individuals my need to be removed - such as name@, but general contact@, info@, enquiries@ etc. information should be available through FOI.

I await your updated response.

Yours faithfully,

Andrew

Department for Education

Andrew,

The .csv file that was sent did contain the email addresses however I understand that the What do they know site removes the email addresses from the file and that you will need to login to your account in order to be able to download the file including the email addresses.

If this is not the case and you are still having difficulty accessing the file please can you provide an alternative email address and I will send the file to you direct.

regards,
