Dear Cassidy, J

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - INFORMATION REQUEST

I acknowledge your request for information received on 29 May 2009.

Your request is being considered and we are required to send you the
information requested within the statutory timescale of 20 working days
unless an exemption applies.

The Act defines a number of exemptions which may prevent release of the
information you have requested. There will be an assessment and if any of
the exemption categories apply, then the information will not be released.
You will be informed if this is the case, including your rights of appeal.
In addition, where an exemption requires us to consider the public
interest test, we are allowed to take longer than 20 working days to
respond to your request but the timeframe must be reasonable. In this
circumstance we would keep you informed of our target time for dealing
with your request.

We also may have to ask you for further information to ensure that we can
fully comply with your request. In such an event we will contact you
directly to request the information.

If appropriate, the information may be provided in paper copy, normal font
size. If you require alternative formats, e.g. language, audio, large
print, etc., then please let me know.

There may be a fee payable for the information you have requested. This
will be considered and you will be informed if a fee is payable. In this
event the fee must be paid before the information is processed and
released. The 20 working day time limit for responses is suspended until
receipt of the payment, and you have three months in which to send the
fee. If you do not provide payment within three months your request will
lapse.

If you have any queries or concerns, please contact me.

Mariana Ivantsoff, London Councils

Dear Sir or Madam,

I write further to your four Freedom of Information Requests sent
to London Councils by email on the 29 May 2009 with your
references:

1. Correspondence and attachments 29 05 09; 2. Home office email
correspondence 29 05 09; 3. Local government associations and
asylum 29 05 09; and 4. UASC reform programme 29 05 09.

I regret to advise that we are unable to respond today, the final
date for response within the statutory timeframe of 20 working
days. We apologise for this delay which is due to the current
secondment of the principal employee who has been responsible for
dealing with matters relating to unaccompanied asylum seeking
children and the UASC reform programme. We will respond to your
four requests by the 8 July, but will of course endeavour to
respond before that date where possible.

Yours faithfully,

London Councils
