Dear Mr Steadman

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION

Further to your request for information received on 4 May 2012 I am
writing to confirm that the Council does hold the information of the
description specified in your e-mail.

The location of the car parks is on our website [1]www.tendringdc.gov.uk
/parking but we do not hold any specific data that is readily available
saying precisely where they are located or the number of spaces on each
this will have to be compiled separately from the information on the
website.

The information I am able to provide is that the car park fees have only
altered across the board once in the past 5 years and that was this year.

1.         General location and names of car parks along with tariffs and
tariff changes over the past 5 years – (see attached).  Tariffs have not
increased previously other than on one or two individual car parks.  We do
not hold this information in a readily available format.

2.         A chart and details of combined car park income over a ten year
period (see attached). The ‘Ticket Sold’ figures are collected but again
are not on one individual spreadsheet.

As a general rule tickets sales equates roughly to income figures - namely
£800,000 = 800,000 tickets.

3.         I am not aware of any developments likely to affect car parks
in our area.

I would like to state that if this information is not sufficiently
detailed for you I must advise you that to compile some of this
information will be extremely time consuming and we are permitted to make
a charge for this; it would also mean that we have to potentially employ 2
or 3 temporary staff for 3 or more days to put the information together.
At this stage the cost is unknown, however, should you still require this
information please let us know and we would ask that you sign an agreement
to pay for the work entailed, which could easily be in excess of £500.00.

I hope this information is of assistance to you. However if you feel that
the Council have failed to deal with your request for information
correctly you can request that the matter is reviewed in accordance with
the Authority's Complaints Procedure. Details of this procedure can be
obtained from all Council offices or from our website (www.tendringdc.).

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision.  The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:

FOI Compliance Team (complaints), Information Commissioner's Office,
Wycliffe House, , Wilmslow, SK9 5AF

If you have any other queries about this matter then please contact me.

Yours sincerely
