Teaching Agency

An executive agency and a body that is now defunct

The National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) was formed on 29 March 2013 by merging the activities of the National College for School Leadership and the Teaching Agency.

The Teaching Agency was established on 1 April 2012, and is an executive agency of the Department for Education.

It takes on functions previously carried out by the Training and Development Agency for Schools, General Teaching Council for England, Children’s Workforce Development Council and the Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency.

This authority no longer exists, so you cannot make a request to it.
