A navigation authority, also called Scottish Canals

Since 2nd July 2012, the British Waterways Board (commonly known as Scottish Canals) has been responsible only for canals in Scotland. The canals and rivers in England and Wales for which it used to be responsible are now managed by the Canal & River Trust.
