Her Majesty’s Courts and the Tribunals Service

An executive agency, also called HMCTS

Please note that Her Majesty's Courts and Tribunal Service (HMCTS) is separate from the Judiciary. HMCTS deals purely with administration. They are not responsible for judges' decisions. They are strictly impartial, aren't allowed to comment on judicial decisions and cannot give legal advice.

Freedom of Information Requests to courts including magistrates courts, county courts, the high court and appeal courts can be made via the Courts and Tribunals Service.

Freedom of Information Requests to HMCTS are dealt with by the Ministry of Justice's FOI team. Please make clear within your request that you are seeking information held by HMCTS.

WhatDoTheyKnow lists the UK Supreme Court, The High Court of Justiciary [Scotland] and The Judicial Committee of the Privy Council separately.
