Known as the the Department of Health (DH) until January 2018.

The department is responsible for health and social care in England.[1] The Department provides strategic leadership to the NHS and social care organisations in England.[2]

FOI requests relating to Connecting for Health, the national programme for NHS information technology, including summary care records, can be made to the Department of Health and Social Care. Connecting for Health is a directorate of the Department of Health and Social Care. Requests to the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) can also be made via the Department for Health and Social Care.

The department hosts the Scientific Pandemic Influenza Group on Modelling (SPI-M) and the New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threats Advisory Group (NERVTAG).
