Care Quality Commission

A regulator, also called CQC

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the regulator of health and adult social care services in England. CQC also monitors the use of the Mental Health Act and protects the interests of people whose rights are restricted under that Act.

Healthwatch England is a statutory committee of the CQC * and the CQC hosts the ‘Freedom to Speak Up’ National Guardian’s Office. FOIA requests for information held by these bodies may be submitted to CQC.
