George Black made this Freedom of Information request to British Broadcasting Corporation
Waiting for an internal review by British Broadcasting Corporation of their handling of this request.
From: George Black

Dear Sir or Madam,
Please could you tell me how many people were employed at salary
grade 10 (or were acting up to that grade) in the Core News section
of World Service News and Current Affairs at the time of the last
pay rise in 2008? How many of those people received a bonus? How
many received an above standard pay rise? How many received both a
bonus and an above standard pay rise?
Yours faithfully,
George Black

Dear Sir or Madam,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of British Broadcasting
Corporation's handling of my FOI request 'WS CORE NEWS BONUSES'.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ws...
I have not requested any information relating to any individual and
it would not be possible to identify any individual from the
information I have requested. All I have requested is numbers. No
names.
I just want to know how many people were working at band 10 and
what proportion of them received bonuses etc. There is no way,
unless the proportion was zero or 100%, that releasing this
information could lead to the remuneration details of any
individual being disclosed.
I therefore believe your decision to refuse my information request
was without a valid foundation and I ask you to reconsider it.
Yours sincerely,
George Black
