Worthing Borough Council Common Purpose expenditure and invoices

Linda Greyson made this Freedom of Information request to Worthing Borough Council

The request was successful.

From: Linda Greyson

25 June 2008

Dear Sir or Madam,

I and others are deeply concerned at the workings of a charity
named COMMON PURPOSE which seems deeply ingrained in many Councils,
hence I request that
you detail total expenditure (if any) by Worthing Borough Council
on Common Purpose courses for each of the following years: 1997,
1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008
to date.

Please also supply a copy of the invoice for each Common Purpose
course paid for by Worthing Borough Council.

By "Common Purpose", I mean the training organisation of that name:
http://www.commonpurpose.org/home.aspx

Yours faithfully,

Linda Greyson.

Worthing Borough Council

23 July 2008

Dear Linda

Under the Freedom of Information Act, I am writing in response to your
enquiry of 5th July 2008 regarding the use of a charity called Common
Purpose.

I confirm that Worthing Borough Council has not used Common Purpose for
any training courses.

If you are unhappy with the way that this request has been resolved,
then you may ask for an internal review of this decision by writing to
Jeremy Cook at The Town Hall, Chapel Road, Worthing, West Sussex BN11
1LE. He will then arrange for the case to be reviewed.

You may also make a complaint under Section 50 of the Freedom of
Information Act to the Information Commissioner, who can be contacted at
Whycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF. However please
note that he would normally expect that any internal review procedures
have been exhausted prior to contacting him.

Yours sincerely

Karen Bull
