FoI/2009/379

Dear Ms Follen,

We have now collated the information to respond to your request. You
have asked:

i) Who is the incumbent supplier of your Wide Area Network
Services?

The Council has several suppliers involved including BT, NTL,
H20, and Redstone.

ii) Do you use a Systems Integrator for your WAN? If so, please
specify who.

The majority of the WAN (to schools) is managed/maintained by
Redstone. They sub-contract some Educational Systems management
to Atomwide.

iii) What is the length of your contract with your WAN supplier?

The Council is currently in three year contract within the South
East Grid for Learning Buying Consortium Framework.

iv) When does your current contract expire? (mm/yy)

I understand that the contract has technically expired, but the
Council is still able to purchase against this contract until April
2010.

v) What is your buying process? (For example you buy through 'Buying
Solutions')

For this contract the Council procures through the South East
Grid for Learning (SEGfL) buying consortium.
