Why are ILR Applications (SET O) based of Long Residence (10 years) now processed by POST ONLY.

Andy made this Freedom of Information request to UK Border Agency

Waiting for an internal review by UK Border Agency of their handling of this request.

Dear UK Border Agency,

Kindly respond to the following requests:

Why is it that from 01/Jan/2010 ILR Applications (SET O) based of
Long Residence (10 years) now processed by POST ONLY?

Why does your SET O Form (on the payment page), Guidance Notes (on
page 12) and Website (in your 'Completing application form SET(O)'
section) still incorrectly provide the following advice:

"You can post your application to us, or apply in person at one of
our public enquiry offices - this is a same-day service, available
at a premium fee and by appointment only, and is only suitable for
straightforward applications that will not require further
enquiries. You cannot apply in person if you are currently in one
of the following categories:

■Tier 1 (Entrepreneur)
■Tier 1 (Investor)
■businessperson
■innovator
■investor
■self-employed lawyer still"?

Yours faithfully,

Andy
