Volume of Correspondence

The request was partially successful.

Dear Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner,

Could you please release any information you hold on the volume of correspondence the commissioner has received from constituents and their elected representatives since taking office.

I suspect you may hold this information broken down by means of contact eg. letter, email etc. and perhaps by week or month or type of correspondent eg. MP, individual, campaign group etc. . I would like to receive this information in whatever format, and broken down in whatever manner, it is held in, and as it may have already been prepared for management purposes and/or presentation to the commissioner.

Regards,

We have completed all searches within the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and hereby enclose your response. This is a record of all correspondence received up to and including the day we received your Freedom of Information request.

The response states there have been 585 items of correspondence. It's not clear what the response means by correspondence on the subject of the Inspectorate of Constabulary or the Home Office. I don't have much confidence these are actually, as I requested, details of correspondence from: "constituents and their elected representatives".

The response indicates the statistics have been collated specifically in order to respond to this request; however a breakdown which was not requested has been provided.

The fact the response states: " This is a record of all correspondence " makes me wonder if routine correspondence from the police force might have been included.
