Dear Mr Griffiths
Thank you for your Freedom of Information request received on 25 January

Please note that the figures given are for Active Places only and not
Active Places Power. The dates to which the figures apply are between 1

2. number of pages visited per user,
We are unable to provide the number of pages visited per user to you
because we do not collect this information. This is because we do not
collect the number of individual users. We do capture the number of unique
visits to the site (but please note that an individual user might make
many visits). We can provide to you instead the average number of
pageviews per unique visit:
At each unique visit an average of 17.58 webpages were viewed.
3. the number of searches serviced per user,
We cannot provide this information to you because we do not collect it. We
do not collect the number of individual users, just the number of unique
visits - see above. We do track the webpages viewed at each unique visit,
but we cannot always tell when a webpage has been produced as a result of
a search. A search could result in the same page just being refreshed.
4. the number of new registered users for 2009.
We cannot provide this information to you because we do not collect the
date on which a registration is made. Visitors to the site do not have to
register to use the site. This means that visitors can use the site more
easily, without being asked to provide any personal details.
5. Finally, please provide your 2010 targets and estimates for the
site traffic.
The 2010 targets for the website are:
Currency Each record on the database should be checked (and updated if
necessary) at least once every 12 months
Completeness At least 95% of each different kind of facility listed on the
database should be recorded on the database ie 95% of all the
swimming pools in England, 95% of all the gyms etc
Accuracy 95% of the information about each site/facility should be
accurate
Redundancy No more than 5% of the records on the database should be
duplicate records
The principal objective of the database is to enable us, and our
stakeholders, to understand what type of facilities are located across the
country in order to strategically assess potential gaps in provision.
Therefore the currency, accuracy and completeness of the data held on the
system are the key performance objectives. For these reasons we have not
set estimates for site traffic, so we are unable to provide estimates to
you. Our target audience is primarily those who develop sports facilities
i.e local authorities and sports governing bodies, as well as interested
members of the public.
The figures given are for Active Places only and not Active Places Power.
The information given is for the period between Jan 1, 2009 and Dec 31,
2009.
