violence towards staff in Falkirk Council schools over each of the
past five years (2004-05 to 2008-09).

Dear Mr Archibald,
Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 Violence to staff
I write further to your request for information about the number of
incidents of violence to staff in schools over the last five years.
They are as follows:
2004/5 2005/6 2006/7 2007/8 2008/9 Incidents 184 142 67 56 54
Please note we do not record the degree of violence or whether the
incident was intentional and these figures will include minor
unintentional incidents which occur when dealing with very young
children and those with additional support needs.
I hope that the information above is of use to you. I attach for
your information a leaflet detailing your right to complain if you
are unhappy with the way in which your request was handled.
