In accordance with the term of the Freedom of Information Act I
would be grateful if you could provided the following information

1. How many students graduated from your establishment in 2006

2. How many students graduated from your establishment in 2007

3. How many students graduated from your establishment in 2008

4. How many requests, from external individuals or organisations ,
to confirm the degree qualification of a former student at your
establishment, were received in 2006.

5. How many requests, from external individuals or organisations ,
to confirm the degree qualification of a former student at your
establishment, were received in 2007.

6. How many requests, from external individuals or organisations ,
to confirm the degree qualification of a former student at your
establishment, were received in 2008.

Dear Mr Fawcett

Freedom of Information Request - reference 2009-24

Further to your email of 27 April asking for numbers of students receiving
an award from the University and requests to verify qualifications, I am
pleased to enclose the information the University is able to provide in
answer to your request.

Students graduating from Oxford Brookes University in:

2006 (Q1) was 6860
2007 (Q2) was 5835
2008 (Q3) was 5970

In respect of questions 4 and 5, Oxford Brookes does not hold the
information as no record was kept of the number of requests dealt with.

For question 6, relating to requests to confirm qualifications in 2008,
the University's Academic Management Office dealt with 1600 such requests.
However, the Conferment Office also answer requests of this nature but
have no record of the number actioned.

If this information does not address your requirements under the Freedom
of Information Act or you wish to complain about any aspect of the
handling of this request, then you should contact the undersigned in the
first instance. Should you remain dissatisfied, then you may apply for an
internal review by contacting the Director of Corporate Affairs, Oxford
Brookes University, Headington Campus, Gipsy Lane, Oxford OX3 OBP.

During the independent review the handling of your information request
will be reassessed by staff who were not involved in providing you with
this response. If you are still unhappy following an internal review, the
provisions of Section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act provide for you
to take your complaint to the Information Commissioner. Please note that
the Information Commissioner will not investigate your case until the
University's internal review process has been completed. Further details
