In accordance with the term of the Freedom of Information Act I
would be grateful if you could provided the following information

1. How many students graduated from your establishment in 2006

2. How many students graduated from your establishment in 2007

3. How many students graduated from your establishment in 2008

4. How many requests, from external individuals or organisations ,
to confirm the degree qualification of a former student at your
establishment, were received in 2006.

5. How many requests, from external individuals or organisations ,
to confirm the degree qualification of a former student at your
establishment, were received in 2007.

6. How many requests, from external individuals or organisations ,
to confirm the degree qualification of a former student at your
establishment, were received in 2008.

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Information Act 2000.

For your information, the Act defines a number of exemptions that may
prevent release of information in certain circumstances. The information
you have requested will be assessed, and if any of the exemptions apply
then the information will not be released. You will be informed if this
is the case, and the decision will be explained to you. You will also be
informed of your right to appeal.

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Your request for information received on 27/04/2009 has now been
considered.

The response to your enquiry is as follows.

In relation points 1, 2 and 3 of your request, the number of undergraduate
awards, University of Northumbria for each of the years specified were:

2005/06 4065
2006/07 4845
2007/08 4750

Source: As published by the Higher Education Information Database for
Institutions, derived from statutory returns made to the Higher Education
Statistics Agency each year.

In respect of points 4, 5 and 6 - the number of requests from external
individuals or organisations to confirm the degree qualification of a
former students. Northumbria University mains a record of requests of this
nature until the end of the academic year in which they are received.
Therefore all records of such requests were destroyed accordingly and the
information is no longer held by the University. I am sorry that we cannot
provide any information for this element of your request
