In accordance with the term of the Freedom of Information Act I
would be grateful if you could provided the following information

1. How many students graduated from your establishment in 2006

2. How many students graduated from your establishment in 2007

3. How many students graduated from your establishment in 2008

4. How many requests, from external individuals or organisations ,
to confirm the degree qualification of a former student at your
establishment, were received in 2006.

5. How many requests, from external individuals or organisations ,
to confirm the degree qualification of a former student at your
establishment, were received in 2007.

6. How many requests, from external individuals or organisations ,
to confirm the degree qualification of a former student at your
establishment, were received in 2008.

Dear Mr Fawcett

I acknowledge your request for information received on 27th April 2009.

Your request is being considered and you will receive the information requested within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Freedom of Information Act 2000, subject to the information not being exempt or containing a reference to a third party.

With regards to questions 1-3 below, this information is available for all institutions from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA). Therefore under Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act, Information accessible to applicant by other means, the information you have requested is exempt from disclosure.

In response to questions 4-6, the university does not currently record the number of requests we get to confirm qualifications. We centrally receive numerous requests on a weekly basis.
