Dear Mr Walker,
Thank you for your email requesting information concerning the Council's
use of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act. Please find below
the information you requested.
How many times, to date, has the Council used the powers of RIPA to
obtain information on it's constituents?
Ten times
What is the breakdown of these requests by each department within the
council?
The cases on which authorisations were used were mainly anti social
behaviour but there were also environmental and licensing cases.
How many times, to date, has the Council been refused the use of the
powers of RIPA?
None
What is the breakdown of the refused requests by each department within
the council?
N/A.
