Mr Carter made this Freedom of Information request to Falkirk Council
The request was successful.
From: Mr Carter
29 May 2010
Dear Falkirk Council,
The conditions of use for a .gov.uk domain name (archived at
http://archive.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/e-go...
) state that "acceptance of the name is conditional on that name
being used specifically and exclusively for the organisation on
whose behalf it is registered"
Please provide a list of of domains within the .gov.uk hierachy
owned/operated by Falkirk Council, details of all organisations
using the those domains for web, email or other internet purposes,
who are not Falkirk Council, and the email, web or other internet
addresses or URLs used by each organisation.
If the email addresses (etc) used by organisations would identify
an individual, please provide sufficient address information to
enable the addresses used by a non council organisation to be
distinguished from any similar addresses used by a council
organisation or employee.
Yours faithfully,
Mr Carter

Falkirk Council

Dear Mr Carter
Thank you for your recent FOI request regarding domain names.
Falkirk Council currently has the domains
falkirk.gov.uk
falkirk-council.gov.uk
owned by Falkirk Council.
Falkirk Council also has a number of other domain names registered to it
and I have attached a list of those for your information. We are also
listed as the registrant for centralscotlandfire.gov.uk, but this is owned
by Central Scotland Fire and Rescue - we merely assisted in the original
administration of this domain.
We also host domains for Central Scotland Racial Equality Council and
Sportcentral which are independent of Falkirk Council. The links to these
are
[1]www.centralscotlandrec.org.uk
[2]http://www.sportcentral.org.uk/
Northfield Quarry and Tulliallan Quarry are non Falkirk Council
organisations which do have falkirk.gov.uk e-mail addresses. However,
these act as distribution lists to external addresses to allow users who
hold historical e-mail addresses for these activities to have mail
forwarded.
As part of the Falkirk Online website, although not directly as part of
the main falkirk.gov.uk website, we also host webpages and links for a
number of other organisations. These can be found at
[3]http://www.falkirkonline.net/Specialist%...
If you have any questions regarding the above, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
