The request was successful.

From: Ian Salisbury

20 May 2010

Dear Architects Registration Board,

I understand the Terms of Reference for the Investigations
Committee, approved by the Board, include a provision for giving a
formal warning to an architect under investigation for unacceptable
professional conduct or serious professional incompetence. Please
may I have the following information.

1. A reference to the Board Meeting Minute recording that this
practice has been approved.

2. The number of times such a formal written warning has been
issued in each calendar year since the practice started.

3. Whether, and for how long, records of such issued warnings are
kept by the Board.

4. Whether the Board has ever disclosed the existence and/or
substance of such a warning to a) the Investigations Committee, or
b) the Professional Conduct Committee (either directly or through
the Board's solicitor). If such any disclosure has been made to the
IC and/or the PCC, please supply the number of such disclosures in
each calendar year, the dates of the disclosures and the identities
of the architects concerned. In each case please supply a copy of
the advice given.

5. Whether the Board has ever disclosed the existence and/or
substance of any such warning to any third party. If it has, please
supply the number of such disclosures in each calendar year; the
dates of the disclosures, the identities of both the Architects
concerned and the third parties. In each case please supply a copy
of the advice given.

6. Whether the Board has approved any kind of practice direction,
rule or modus operandi for the administration of the record of such
warnings (including, if any, guidance etc. on the disclosure of
such warnings). If so, please provide a copy of the same.

If the Board considers that is is exempt from providing any of this
requested information, please provide reasons for refusing to issue
it. Please take each part of each request as a stand-alone request.

Many thanks
Yours faithfully,

Ian Salisbury

Thank you for your email. We aim to reply to all emails we receive within
five working days.

In the meantime, we will be able to deal with your email more quickly if
you don't send your message to other email addresses at ARB. This creates
delays for us and stops us from dealing promptly with communications we
receive.

Dear Karen,

Thank you for your email. I have reviewed the 4 pages of your
posted reply which I have received today; thank you. Each of those
pages is clearly printed and I cannot see why the material did not
respond well to PDF.

The Ministry of Justice has guidance on the mode of reply – "As
well as hard copy written correspondence, requests that are
transmitted electronically (for example, in emails) are acceptable
... If a request is received by email and no postal address is
given, the email address should be treated as the return address."
In my request I provided only an electronic address for response. I
would be grateful if you would provide the information
electronically in response to this email.

Yours sincerely,

Ian Salisbury
