Dear Sir or Madam,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Islington Borough
Council's handling of my FOI request ''UASC Reform Steering Group
'post-18' and 'front-end' sub-groups' (17/05/09'.
In your response you state:
"Please contact me if you wish to make a further request for
information belonging to Islington Council."
This quote implies you are misinterpreting the Freedom of
Information Act. It suggests that you may actually hold some of the
information I have requested but are refusing to disclose it on the
pretext is does not belong to you. The Freedom of Information Act
requires you to disclose any information you hold, the concept of
whether any information belongs to Islington Council is a false one
and therefore suggesting I ask other agencies for information I
reasonably believe you hold is likely to be unlawful. As I stated
in my original request one of you employees is represented on the
groups I mention and as such they should have copies of the
information I requested, as they hold this information as an
employee of Islington Council.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ua...
Yours sincerely,
Cassidy, J

Dear Cassidy, J
I refer to your request for an internal review around the way in which
your Freedom of Information request (our reference 256600) was dealt
with. The Council responded that it does not hold this information and
explained that the UKBA UASC Reform Programme and the LGA UASC Reform
Steering Group hold this information. In addition, the Council provided
you with details of how to contact these organisations.
I have undertaken an internal review of the process and of the response
that were made.
In terms of process:
