Dear South Bucks District Council,

During the last financial year April 2009 to April 2010 can you
provide the following information:

1) How many new Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) your
local authority provided support for.

2)What is the name of the team that:

2.1) Assessed these UASC when they arrived
2.2) Provided ongoing support when accepted as children

3) For those UASC aged 16 or more please advise how long each of
them was provided with support under:

3.1) ...Section 17 of the Children Act
3.2) ...Section 20 of the Children Act

and on average how many weeks those aged 16 or more were supported
before being provided with support:

3.3)...from a Leaving Care service.

If they are provided with Leaving Care services please advise how
long they would also be provided with Section 20 support or
confirmation that once they are provided with Leaving Care support
they are discharged from Section 17 or Section 20 support.

Please confirm that your local authority also uses the National
Register of Unaccompanied Children.

In response to your request under the provisions of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 under section 21, the exemption `Information
accessible to applicant by other means' applies. This Council does not
hold any information relating to unaccompanied asylum seeking children
(UASC) taken into care as this is a County Council function and South
Bucks is a District Council. You need to re-direct your request to Bucks

internal review of your request and ultimately to complain to the
Information Commissioner should you still be unhappy with the outcome.
