DECISION

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.

Please find below information pursuant to your request.

1. How much money has been spent with the Hillingdon Gazette and Leader
newspaper?

A. We have no record of any expenditure with the newspaper quoted. The
requested information is therefore not held by the MPS. However, as part
of the duty to assist, I can confirm that the following amounts have been
paid to Trinity Mirror Southern, which includes the Uxbridge Gazette
within its titles:

2004-05 **53,551
2005-06 **46,433
2006-07 **23,474
2007-08 **17,469
2008-09 **25,390

2. How much money has been spent with any of the Trinity Mirror group or
it's associated companies?

A. We have undertaken various searches of our vendor codes to identify any
expenditure in addition to that given in the previous answer, and have not
been able to locate any further expenditure with Trinity Mirror Group.

3. What is the total advertising/media spend for the Metropolitan Police?

4. Please itemise the total advertising/media spend for the Metropolitan
Police.

With regard to question 3 and 4, this information is exempt by virtue of
section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act (Information available by
other means), as it is published on the MPA website. The formal refusal
notice for this information is contained in the 'Legal Appendix' section
below; however, to assist you, I have provided links to the requested
information, which is contained in the published MPA Accounts for each of
the last 5 years. With regard to question 4, the costs are broken down
between staff recruitment advertising and other publicity costs
(publications advertising the MPA and MPS in local press, attending
community events and monitoring press reports of the MPA and MPS).
