Dear Sir or Madam,

Please can you provide me with a trial balance and any journal
adjustments used to prepare the most recently published annual
financial statements.

By trial balance I mean "A statement of all the open debit and
credit items in a double-entry ledger, made to test their
equality." The Council should be able to export one from the
Council's main accounting system if the one used to prepare the
financial statements was not retained.

Further to your email of 18 August we are not sure what additional
information you are asking for as we use journal transfers throughout the
year and during closedown to transfer monies from one place to another.
Please can you specify the information you require in more detail.

Dear Sirs

The Trial Balance should have been used as a starting point when
preparing the annual accounts however it may be that adjustments
(journals) need to be made to arrive at the final figures used in
the annual accounts. These journals are the year-end journals and
were requested in my original request.
