Dear Mr Willis
Our Ref: CSG 86 -10
Thank you for your enquiry.
I regret we are unable to supply you with the information you require as our system is not set up to retrieve the information as required i.e specifically searching lengths of railway trackbed in the name of a specific company.
However, pursuant to rule 11 Land Registration Rules 2003, Land Registry holds an Index of Proprietors Names and searches can be made against those names. In this case you can search against Sustrans. The result will show any titles currently registered against that name. You can then apply for a copy of the register of title(s) which will give a full description of the property/land, the name and address of the registered owner and if registered after 2000, the price paid if applicable. (See Public Guide 1 - A guide to the information we keep and how you can obtain it for guidance on how to view and/or obtain copies of the register or plan).
Anyone can make a search against a company or organisation. Application must be made on form PN1. The address where the application must be lodged is printed on the form. A fee of £12 per name or variation of a name is payable.
All land registry forms and leaflets are available to view and/or download from our website www.landregistry.gov.uk
Yours sincerely
Belinda Dawkins
