Dear Mr Roberto,

Thank you for your email which has been passed to me for reply.

Here at the Imperial War Museum our collections are documented to
varying levels, as appropriate for the item or type of material, for
example, some is catalogued by 'collection' rather than by 'item'.

A recent bench marking exercise identified records for 10, 700,000
items, and collections of items, across our constituent departments of
Art, Documents, Exhibits and Firearms, Printed Books, Sound, Film and
Photographs and Vehicles and Aircraft.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Whitmore
