12 March 2010
Dear Norfolk County Council,
under the freedom of information act I would like the following
information concerning the Oriel Maths and Computing College
(formerly Oriel High School).
The month by month aggregate of the top 10 monthly pay cheques
(gross) of staff employed by the Oriel. I would like the monthly
totals presented in groups of 12 months with a separate yearly
total and the year on year % increase/decrease.
Could you arrange the year groups from march to feb and go back as
far a march 2000. If your data doesn't reach that far, go back as
many marches as you can.
I would like the data to be sent electronically and in a tabular
form.
Yours faithfully,
Gerald Rouse

Dear Mr Rouse
Freedom of Information Act 2000
I refer to your request for information dated 12th March 2010. In
accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, we
have now processed your request.
You asked:
Under the Freedom of Information act I would like the following
information concerning the Oriel Maths and Computing College (formerly
Oriel High School): the month by month aggregate of the top 10 monthly pay
cheques (gross) of staff employed by the Oriel. I would like the monthly

reach that far, go back as many Marches as you can. I would like the data
to be sent electronically and in a tabular form.
In response to your request, please find attached a spreadsheet These
figures are the aggregated total of all salary related payments (top ten
gross pay amounts), therefore they are not necessarily representative of
the regular monthly salaries, as they may include pay award arrears or any
reimbursement payments made in a particular month.
Within the cost limit of £450 (18 hours' work) for which S. 12 of the Act
provides, we can only provide data back to April 2006.Prior to date, such
payroll records as we still hold are stored on a legacy system and to
upload and extract data from it would be very time-consuming.
I believe that we have answered your request as fully as possible, given
the constraints in regard to older data. However if you are dissatisfied
with our response or handling of your request you have the right of appeal
through the Council's internal complaints procedure by setting out the
grounds of your appeal in writing to the Freedom of Information Officer
