Dear Metropolitan Police Authority,
(1) I would like the full documentation on your roll as an
Authority including any powers you hold under P A C E
(2) I would like full documentation on the type of recommendation
you make to both the MPS and the MAYOR OF LONDON
(3) I would like full documentation on the kind of reports you
receive from outside agency by subject for your evaluation.
(4) I would like documentation on what specialist subject your
board member hold to help them evaluate the documents you receive
(5) I would all so like the full documentation on the Patten report
recommendation 69 and 70 relating to public order equipment
foreword by Jane Kennedy, date 2001. given to you either by the
Home office or the Steering group lead by the Northern Ireland
office

Thank you for your request of 17 March 2010 under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for information about the MPA roll as an Authority.

We are able to respond as follows.

1) Please find attached document which provides details of the statutory duties of police authorities

2) to 4) Please provide clarification on the type of information that your require and the issues which are of interest you. The majority of this documentation would be available on the committee pages of our website, where you will find copies of reports received and produced by the MPA www.mpa.gov.uk

5) The Authority does not hold any documentary information on Recommendations 69 and 70 of the Patten Report.

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a complaint about any of the above decisions you may contact me to arrange for an officer who has not had any involvement with this request to review our decision. If you are still unhappy after that, a further request can be made to the Information Commissioner, who will decide whether the request was dealt with in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act. to understand what non lethal weapons the police have you need to read the patten report there are at least 6 of them I have found 4 by Jane kennedy alone one by Paul Goggins and one by Adam Ingram,
to find them goggle
Patten report recommendation 69 and 70 relatating to public order Equipment, all though the Northern Irish office did the report they cover the UK the Met police UK carried out the testing for all police forces each one tells you some thing different , the covers are the same so look for page one till the end
