Trevor R Nunn made this Freedom of Information request to Administrative Justice and Tribunals Council
The request was successful.
From: Trevor R Nunn
27 January 2010
Dear Administrative Justice and Tribunals Council,
The stated role of the AJTC is in part to keep under review the
administrative justice system as a whole, with a view to making it
accessible, fair and efficient.
Therefore, I would like to know what reviews and or research you
have carried out or commissioned in the last five years into how
accessible fair and efficient the Local Government Ombudsman
actually is.
Yours faithfully,
Trevor R Nunn

Extracted from their response.
"Thank you for your enquiry regarding the Local Government Ombudsman.
The AJTC has not carried out or commissioned any research into how accessible, fair and efficient the LGO is. However, the AJTC maintains links with the LGO and takes an interest in its work."
So essentially they are told how good the LGO are by the LGO themselves!

"I would regard the Parliamentary Ombudsman and the Local Government Ombudsmen as falling fairly clearly within the administrative justice landscape."
