Temporary staff spending by school

D Boucher made this Freedom of Information request to Islington Borough Council

The request was refused by Islington Borough Council.

From: D Boucher

26 January 2010

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am interested in the amounts paid by each school in Islington to
third parties in relation to temporary staffing cover. My
hope is to receive an electronic breakdown of amounts paid (a)
through the department's purchase ledger by school and (b) in
grants, by grantee.

Notes:
1. I would like the information in electronic format. This should
avoid any printing cost issues.
2. In order to avoid your having to collate information from
peripheral systems, I am willing to accept information only from
your main system (I would like you to advise which system this is).
By main system I mean the system that handles the largest part of
the department's expenditure. If grants and supplier payments are
made through separate systems, then I would like you to choose the
main system for each.
3. The information I require for each supplier/grantee is: Supplier
name and total amount paid.
4. I would like the information to cover the year 2008/9. I would
accept 2007/8 figures if this is not possible.

Yours faithfully,

Mr D Boucher

Dear Islington Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Islington Borough
Council's handling of my FOI request 'Temporary staff spending by
school'.

I am aware that each school has a budget, which they can allocate
as they wish, however my request is for information that has come
back from schools in either 07/08 or 08/09 financial years
regarding their temporary staff spend.

Someone must collate the information on a central system for year
end financial accounting. I will accept a figure for each schools
temporary supply spend or ideally as first requested, a further
breakdown of suppliers who had invoices for temporary staffing
paid.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/te...

Yours faithfully,

D Boucher
