television screen in Bonn Square

Kaihsu Tai made this Freedom of Information request to Oxford City Council

The request was successful.

From: Kaihsu Tai

23 July 2008

Dear Sir or Madam,

The head of planning of your Council, Michael Crofton-Briggs, was
reported to have said that there are plans to install a television
screen (or television screens) in Bonn Square. He is quoted to have
said "It's a very flexible space, that could be used for a big
screen to show football games in a European Championship or World
Cup".

Would you please confirm that such a plan exists? If so, would you
please provide any document held by your planning department
relating to the proposed specification, location, and use of such a
screen?

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Dr Kaihsu Tai

Dear Dr Tai,

Thank you for your request about Bonn Square.
The television screen idea was just quoted as an example of how the new
Bonn Square may be used in the future. There are no plans at present to
install a screen there.

I hope this assists, but if you disagree with any part of this response
you are entitled to ask Oxford City Council for an internal review of
the decision(s) made. You may do this by writing to The Monitoring

satisfied, you may ask the Information Commissioner to intervene on your
behalf. You may do this by writing to The Information Commissioner's
Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
