Dear Sir or Madam,
PICT holds computer source code in a Team Foundation Server hosted
on Windows 2003 Server. This is the systems code developed in house
by PICT.
I would like:
* A document detailing the procedure for daily backup of the code
held in the Team Foundation Server as followed by the Technical
Services team.
* A document detailing the procedure for recovery of that backup
following disaster.
* A copy of all the source code backed up in this process.
Thanks once again for your help!
Francis

CASTLE, Bob
House of Commons
1 April 2008
Dear Mr Irving
Thank you for your request which is copied below. The response follows.
You asked for:
1 A document detailing the procedure for daily backup of the code
held in the Team Foundation Server as followed by the Technical
Services team.
Please see the following link
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library...(vs.80).aspx
2 A document detailing the procedure for recovery of that backup
following disaster.
Please see the following link for the same server described in (1)
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library...(VS.80).aspx
A document detailing the procedure relating to a offsite server is also
provided (attached)
3. A copy of all the source code backed up in this process
The House has concluded that the information requested, while held, is
exempt from the obligation imposed by section 1(1)(b) (the provision of
a copy) by virtue of section 36 of the same Act (the exemption relating
to prejudice to the conduct of public affairs). This exemption is being
applied because there is a possibility that the code be used
maliciously to the detriment of Parliament. The source code relates to
our most critical systems that support the Parliamentary procedural
process. Disclosure to the public could give rise to the risk of
prejudice the conduct of public affairs by facilitating the disruption
of the computer system on which the House bases its conduct of its
public business.
You may, if dissatisfied, with the treatment of your request ask the
House of Commons to conduct an internal review of its decision. Requests
for internal review should be addressed to the Data Protection and
Freedom of Information Officer, Department of Finance and
Administration, 7 Millbank, London SW1P 3JA.
Yours sincerely
Bob Castle
