Dear Sir or Madam,
Earlier today I tried to report someone to HMRC at
https://www.taxevasionhotline.co.uk
and got an error
“Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error ‘80040e14′
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Could not allocate
space for object ‘employer’ in database ‘taxevasionhotline’ because
the ‘PRIMARY’ filegroup is full.
/forms/insert_form.asp, line 102”
1. What is the percentage "up" time of this website?
2. When was the last time this website was working properly?
3. How long does it usually take to repair an error with this
website?
4. How many reports of tax evasion have you received on this
website in 2009?
Yours faithfully,
John Walker

Dear Mr Walker
I refer to your email today, in which you point out that our response to
your FOI request is overdue, and ask that we set up an internal review.
I'm sorry that we haven't been able to provide you with a response by
yesterday's deadline. We do take our obligations under the FOI Act
seriously but, unfortunately, we are not able to meet the deadline in
every instance. We will get a response to you as soon as possible.
When you receive the response, you may then request an internal review
if you are not content with our response.
Yours sincerely

29 June 2009
Dear Mr Walker
Further to my email of 24 June 2009, I would again like to apologise for
the delay in responding to your FOI request.
Your request on 24 May 2009, regarding the tax evasion reporting
facility on HMRC's website, was for the following information:
"1. What is the percentage "up" time of this website?
2. When was the last time this website was working properly?
3. How long does it usually take to repair an error with this website?
4. How many reports of tax evasion have you received on this website in
2009?"
The facility to report suspected tax evasion via the HMRC website was
removed in December 2008 pending the implementation of a new system with
an enhanced email handling capability. The new system went live on 5
June 2009.
In addition to this e-mail facility HMRC has a number of other routes
available to the public to report suspected tax evasion, such as the
Customs Confidential hotline, and freepost address. The public can also
write directly to their local office or provide information in person at
any of our enquiry centres.
In response to your specific points, the information we hold is as
follows:
1. The facility to report suspected tax evasion was removed in December
2008 pending the introduction of the new system. Up until that time it
was fully operational.
2. Prior to the new system going live on 5 June 2009, the facility was
last operational in December 2008.
3. We do not hold this information.
4. Since going live on 5 June the new facility has received 116 reports
to 26 June 2009.
If you are not happy with this reply you may request a review by writing
to HMRC FOI Team, Room 4/52, 100 Parliament Street London SWIA 2BQ. You
must request a review within 2 months of the date of this letter. It
would assist our review if you set out which aspects of the reply
concern you and why you are dissatisfied.
If you are not content with the outcome of an internal review, you may
apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. The
Information Commissioner will not usually consider a case unless you
have exhausted the internal review procedure provided by HMRC. He can be
contacted at The Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House,
Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Yours sincerely
Aidan Callan
