Dear Mr Jones
Thank you for your email of 15 April asking, under the Freedom of
Information Act, how many Freedom of Information (FOI) requests the
Taxpayers' Alliance has asked this Department since 2005.
I can confirm that we have a record of eight FOI requests known to have
come from the Taxpayers' Alliance, all of them made in the last two
years. However, I should advise that this should not necessarily be
regarded as the definitive total, as it is possible that other requests
may have been made by individuals working for or otherwise connected with
the Taxpayers' Alliance, but from a private email address. We also
receive requests from intermediaries such as solicitors, where the name of
the person or organisation commissioning the request is unknown.
I hope that this information is helpful. If you are dissatisfied with the
handling of your request, you have the right to ask for an internal
review. Internal review requests should be submitted within two months of
the date of receipt of the response to your original letter and should be
addressed to:
Head of the Freedom of Information Team

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint, you may apply
directly to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) for a decision.
Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the
complaints procedure provided by the Department. The ICO can be contacted
at:
Information Commissioner's Office
Wycliffe House
Water Lane
Wilmslow
Cheshire

Yours sincerely,
Colin McDonald
