Dear Sir or Madam,
To ask the Transport Minister/Transport Scotland how often Amey
(the south west trunk road operating company) has inspected the
condition of lighting bulbs/tubes on the motorway network overhead
gantry signs since the start of the current maintenance contract?
How often are non functioning lighting bulbs/tubes replaced -
specifically on the M74 motorway between Junctions 1 and 6 in both
north and southbound directions?
If dark bulbs/tubes have been detected or reported by the public
how long has it taken to repair the unit?
Finally - why are so many gantry sign lights non functioning on the
M74 (between junctions 1 to 6) as of November 2008?
Yours faithfully,
Martin Stuart Barnett
