Dear Sir or Madam,

Please can you advise what information was provided by either CEC
or Mountgrange to Historic Scotland regarding the structural
condition and estimated cost of any urgent repairs required for
Canongate Venture and the Old Sailors Ark (two listed buildings
proposed for demolition as part of the Caltongate development).
In particular was the independant structural report, which was
conducted at the request of CEC planning, forwarded for comment to
Historic Scotland.
Was any independant structural report requested by Historic
Scotland.

Yours faithfully,

julie logan

Dear Ms Logan,

The links provided are not live in the pdf issued to you but should work
if pasted into an internet browser – apologies for not explaining this
in my initial response.

I have included live links below for ease of access:

Old Sailor's Ark:

[1]http://citydev-portal.edinburgh.gov.uk/p...

Canongate Venture:

 [2]http://citydev-portal.edinburgh.gov.uk/p...

I also include a pdf of the CBA/ARUP report which I previously mentioned
specifically, although this is also accessible via the two links
provided.  You will note from the planning portal that the date of
publication of specific documents to the website and therefore into the
public domain is included on the left-handside of the screen.  Please
note, however, that confirmation of exact dates when documents submitted
in support of the listed building consent applications where released into
the public domain is a matter for City of Edinburgh Council as the
original holder and publisher of the documentation.

You will note from the planning portal that both listed building consent
applications were heard by the Development Management Sub-Committee

of the Planning Committee of the City of Edinburgh Council on 06 February
2008.  The application affecting the Old Sailor’s Ark was also
previously heard by the Sub-Committee on 05 December 2007.

The CBA/ARUP report was passed to Historic Scotland as soon as it became
available in November/December 2007 as part of the ongoing discussions
which took place between all parties for both applications at
pre-notification stage.  Both applications were formally notified to
Historic Scotland on 11 March 2008, received by us on 12 March 2008.  All
documentation listed on the City of Edinburgh Planning Portal was included
as information in support of each application.

I hope this is helpful.
